We’re giving away a pair of tickets to the opening night performance of Nightwood Theatre’s The Lawyer Show.
Once again this year, Nightwood has assembed a group of thespians from the legal world. This time around, they’ll perform Shakespeare’s As You Like It. In a unique twist on the Bard’s original play, though, the production is set “in a contemporary high tech world where a corporate takeover spews these urban misfits into a pastoral setting that forces their awakening.”
In this fundraiser for the theatre company, Nightwood cast 35 local lawyers who teamed with a director and crew and have spent the past couple of months rehearsing lines, dissecting text, choreographing dance sequences and blocking moves. Oh, and blogging about the experience.
The show runs for four performances at the Berkeley Street Theatre from Thursday, June 9 to Saturday, June 11, and tickets are selling out fast. Luckily, our friends at Nightwood set aside a pair of tickets for us to give away to the sold-out opening night performance. The prize also includes admission to a post-show party in the lobby of the theatre, featuring food, drinks and live music by The Cocktail Shakers.
