Bay Street Summer Job Numbers

Since 2008, Precedent has tracked the number of second-year students Toronto law firms have hired in the fall for the upcoming summer.

In the interactive chart below, we’ve ranked the firms that have historically taken on the largest crop of students. When you toggle between the past 16 years, the chart will show the current year in bold, plus the three previous years. You can also sort the data in each column. And if you click on any firm names, you’ll see its numbers from over the years.

See below the chart to find out how we have handled law-firm mergers over the years.

The 2023 Summer Job Watch is now complete.
