As we’re gearing up for another bencher election, here’s a look at who was elected the last time around.
- 14 of 40 benchers (plus the treasurer) came out of 2010 with a perfect Convocation attendance record. For the rest of the bunch, the rate of absent benchers was highest in January and the summer. Perhaps if Convocation was held in Muskoka or the Caribbean…
- The majority of benchers hail from small/medium firms, with only nine big-firm benchers elected in 2007.
- Ontario Lawyers elected 18 women in the 2007 election — more than ever before.
