To celebrate the firm’s move to a larger and more prestigious location, Stockwoods colleagues and clients alike were invited to enjoy an open house, and 41st floor winter city views, in style.
Many friends and colleagues were in attendance from both the private and public sector, including Chief Justice of Ontario, Warren Winkler and Associate Chief Justice, Dennis O’Connor; Justices Robert Blair, Nancy Spies, Frank Marrocco, Julie Thorburn and Gary Trotter; Advocates? Society President Marie Henein; benchers Raj Anand, Paul Schabas, Tom Heintzman, and Chris Bredt; and bencher candidates Will McDowell, Tracey Wynne, Gina Papageorgiou, John Callaghan, Peter Wardle and Phil Tunley.
Also joining the party to toast Stockwoods’ new digs were civil and commercial litigators from several Toronto firms, including Lenczner Slaght, Paliare Roland, Lax O’Sullivan Scott Lisus, Gowlings, Faskens, FMC and McLeish Orlando, along with prominent criminal lawyers from Henein and Associates and Sack Goldblatt Mitchell.
Upon arrival, guests were treated to the sounds of gypsy jazz played by the Jesse Barksdale Trio, along with martini and wine bars, and an abundance of beautifully presented hors d’oeuvres. David Vallee, of the newly opened restaurant Hearth & Garden at Campbell House, fittingly catered the well-attended party.
