Precedent won one gold and two silver awards last night at the 2012 Kenneth R. Wilson Awards, which recognize achievements in business-to-business publications.
Our winter 2011 issue (“Now You See Her, Now You Don’t”) took Gold in the category Art Direction for a Complete Issue. Publisher & Editor Melissa Kluger joined Barb Woolley and Miki Arai from our art direction team, Hambly & Woolley, in accepting the award. Congrats and thanks to the entire Hambly & Woolley team for a well-earned award — and double congrats to Barb and Miki for also winning silver in the same category for their work designing an issue of UTSC Commons!
But that wasn’t the only accolade Barb received for her work with Precedent. Her work crafting our 2011 student supplement (“59 Things Every Lawyer Should Know”) won Silver in the Art Direction for an Opening Spread or Complete Feature category.
Regular Lawandstyle.ca readers will be delighted to know that etiquette columnist Sandra Rosier won an award last night. The 2011 print editions of her amazing column, Bar Code, won Silver in the category Best Regularly Featured Department or Column.
Precedent also earned honourable mentions in three other categories: Best Issue (for our summer 2011 edition); Best How-To Article (for “59 Things Every Lawyer Should Know”); and Best Photograph (for Daniel Ehrenworth’s photo accompanying our spring 2011 Secret Life profile, “Coach, LL.B.”).
Congratulations to all of this year’s KRW Awards winners, to the awards show’s organizers for putting on a great — and brisk-paced — ceremony; and to all of the phenomenal writers, editors, photographers, illustrators, researchers, proofreaders, account managers and support personnel who come together to make Precedent a success. Thanks!
