More than 100 people from the law and social-justice communities gathered early this month to celebrate the Law Foundation of Ontario’s 2017 Guthrie Award recipient: Reem Bahdi, an associate professor at the University of Windsor.

Bahdi is Canada’s first tenured Palestinian-Canadian law professor, with expertise in the human rights of Arabs and Muslims in Canada. And she was instrumental in the creation of the Arab Canadian Lawyers Association.

Linda Rothstein, chair of the Law Foundation and a partner at Paliare Roland LLP, presented Bahdi with the Guthrie Award medal.
