Norton Rose announces merger with U.S.-based Fulbright & Jaworski, which will take effect next June. The merged firm will be renamed Norton Rose Fulbright and will become one of the world’s largest law firms, with 3,800 lawyers and 55 offices worldwide.
London-based Norton Rose established itself in Canada when it merged with Ogilvy Renault and Macleod Dixon last year. The firm has also merged with law firms in Australia and South Africa, and has opened several offices around the world, particularly in Africa, over the past few years.
The merger marks Norton Rose’s first move into the U.S., where they will establish a substantial presence with 800 lawyers in offices in Austin, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Pittsburgh, San Antonio, St Louis and Washington D.C.
