Advocates for War Child, a Toronto-based group of lawyers working to help people in northern Uganda, hosted a fundraiser last night in support of War Child Canada.
The program assists victims of sexual and gender-based violence in Uganda who are often denied access to basic police protection and opportunities for legal recourse.
The event included a performance by Our Lady Peace, a long-time supporter of War Child (in 2007, lead singer Raine Maida spent twelve hours busking for War Child on the streets of Toronto).
