President Obama has made his first pick for the Supreme Court. He announced yesterday that he is nominating Sonia Sotomayor. Currently a federal appeals judge in New York, Sotomayor will be the first Hispanic judge of America’s top court. So far, only two women have held a seat on the Court.
Raised in public housing project in New York, Sotomoayor’s rise to the bench is being touted as the embodiment of the American dream.
