The Law Beat on “The Street”

The Globe launches new weekly page devoted to finance and corporate law

For those of you used to opening your Wednesday morning Globe and Mail to read the Law Page, you will instead find yourself greeted by a new Quebec business column by Sophie Cousineau. The Globe’s weekly law section has a brand new name (“The Street”) and a brand new publication day (Thursday).

“We changed the day as part of a broader shakeup of what we offer our readers in print from Monday to Saturday,” Derek DeCloet, Report on Business editor, told Precedent. DeCloet says the change in name aims to appeal to a broader audience — lawyers but also people that work in finance — but he assures readers that the legal coverage will not radically change. “The ROB has always covered the legal industry with a strong bent toward Bay Street and corporate law, and that focus will remain,” he says.

Precedent will continue to cover The Globe‘s top legal headlines in our daily Court Reporter news feed.
