The Ontario Bar Association’s incoming board includes a brand-new position: Second Vice-President. The role allows OBA executive an extra year of experience as they ascend to the rank of president.
“The position will benefit all future presidents of the OBA in allowing them to ‘hit the ground running’ when they take office,” explains current OBA President Carole J. Brown, “because they will have had the benefit of two years of experience with the Board prior to becoming president.”
Brown moves into the role of immediate past-president on August 15, when she will be succeeded by Lee Akazaki (pictured). Paul Sweeny will become first vice-president, while Morris Chochla assumes the role of inaugural second vice-president.
A full list of new board members is available on the OBA website.
