It seems as though everyone’s talking about the recent allegations that Crown prosecutor Paul Alexander made “distracting faces” from the gallery during Erika Mendieta’s second-degree murder trial. Alexander was part of the prosecution team during Mendieta’s previous trial for these charges, which resulted in a hung jury.
The judge dismissed the jury after jurors and Mendieta made complaints about Alexander. Numerous voices, including MPPs and Criminal Lawyers Association President Paul Burstein, are calling for action on the part of Attorney General Chris Bentley.
