Our 2010 Clawbies nominations

Three law blogs we think should be in the running for the award
Three law blogs we think should be in the running for the award

Nominations are now open for the 2010 Clawbies. As suggested on the awards’ website, we’re presenting our nominations in blog post form. Though it would certainly be easy to nominate more than three law blogs, these blogs really stood out for us this year:

Michael GeistOf the many voices sounding off about the proposed Bill C-32, none have been more balanced, informative and thoroughly engaging than Michael Geist. His down-to-earth critical take on the march toward this legislation becoming law, supported by his extensive background and high-ranking position, have been absolutely vital to the conversation.

Law 21On Law21, Jordan Furlong lays it bare — sometimes painfully so. He says the things others dare not say; we especially enjoyed his November post “Destroying your own business,” in which he compares large, slow-to-adapt firms to corporate sinking ships like Blockbuster. His bravery and forward-looking perspective makes him more than worthy of reward.

Wise Law BlogThe wide-ranging and irreverent Wise Law Blog is a daily destination — especially for their 140Law legal headlines posts/tweets. Garry Wise’s insightful and often hilarious takes on the major legal stories of the day are always worth reading. We also find the blog’s weekly Court of Appeal wrap-up to be very useful.
