Precedent poll results: Are you worried about being laid off? There’s talk on both sides of the border about a possible financial turnaround, and the results of our recent online poll about layoffs indicate that the majority of Precedent readers are feeling more relaxed about job security for Canadian lawyers.

A full 60 percent of the 186 respondents said that they were either not at all worried about losing their jobs (30.8 percent), or only slightly so, during slow work periods (29.2 percent). That’s encouraging, for sure, but the remaining 40 percent were either constantly worried (20.5 percent, or had already been laid off (19.5 percent).

The poll went online on June 10. If you voted back then, how are you feeling now? Leave a comment and let us know.

Our new poll(s), over there on the right-hand side of the page, are about the ongoing legal aid boycott. Hope you’ll weigh in.
