Institute opening night party — smouldering jazz, flying circus

A feast for the eyes

Institute 2012 — Feb. 9, 2012

Attendees at the opening night festivities for the Ontario Bar Association’s Institute 2012 conference were treated to a flash of acrobatic elegance set to a smouldering jazz soundtrack.

The Institute welcome reception, last Thursday at Toronto’s Westin Harbour Castle, featured a performance from Bob De Angelis and his band, who unraveled a string of sprightly standards.

The A²D² Aerial Dance Cirque Company headlined the event, wowing the crowd with dramatic performances on the floor and above it, sweeping vignettes of glittery grace, limber strength and intricate choreography.

Institute 2012, which ran from Feb. 9 to Feb. 11, is the OBA’s professional development conference, the largest of its kind in Canada.
