What: Toronto Lawyers Association — Diversity Soirée

The Toronto Lawyers Association (TLA) acknowledged and celebrated the diversity of Toronto’s legal community at its second annual Diversity Soirée. Hosted within the architecturally-unique TLA lounge, with a view out onto Nathan Phillips Square, guests were treated to the holiday lights now adorning City Hall. The well-attended event, filled with mingling colleagues, and including judges from the Court of Appeal, Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice, included wine and delicious passed canapés, as well as an address by Malliha Wilson, Assistant Deputy Attorney General.
Coordinated & hosted by the TLA, the event was jointly sponsored by the following associations: Arab Canadian Lawyers Association; Association of Chinese Canadian Lawyers of Ontario; Association des juristes d’expression française de l’Ontario; Canadian Association of Black Lawyers; Canadian Association of South Asian Lawyers; Canadian Italian Advocates Organization; Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers; Hellenic Canadian Lawyers Association; Hispanic Ontario Lawyers Association; Indigenous Bar Association; Iranian Canadian Lawyers Association; Iranian Legal Professionals of Ontario; Korean Canadian Lawyers Association; Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Conference; South Asian Bar Association; and Women’s Law Association of Ontario.
“The event was a great success,” said TLA president, Chris Matthews. “Not only did we all benefit from the insightful comments of Malliha Wilson, there was a lot of energy and enthusiasm in the room. We will do this again.”
