Law Society annual awards nominations now open

If you're an outstanding lawyer, or know someone who is, nominate him/her for the LSUC awards

Law Society MedalCalling all friends and colleagues of outstanding lawyers: nominations are now being accepted for the Law Society’s annual awards.

The following honours are up for grabs:

  • The Lincoln Alexander Award, which is presented to an Ontario lawyer who has demonstrated long-standing interest and commitment to the public and to the pursuit of community service on behalf of residents of Ontario;
  • The Laura Legge Award, given annually to a female member of the Law Society who has exemplified leadership within the profession; and
  • Law Society Medals, in recognition of outstanding service in either a particular area of practice, the academic sphere, or in some other professional capacity. Nominations can be for either a long history of devoted service, or a single outstanding act.

Nominations must include a written testimonial, a current CV of the nominee and letters of support. People who have been nominated in past years but not recognized, may be nominated again.

The deadline for nominations is February 26, 2010, and the package must be sent to:
