U.S. charity Public.Resource.Org announced recently that they’ll soon be posting 1.8 million pages of U.S. case law online for free. The online archive will cover U.S. Federal Courts of Appeals decisions since 1950, and all Supreme Court decisions back to 1754. Until now, most of these documents were only available through pricey subscription plans with private companies. The press release further notes that the site will feature new interweb-style bells and whistles like user comments and Wikipedia-like annotations that anyone can vandalize edit.
