CLANext Wednesday (June 1), you’re invited to celebrate the achievements of Canadian Lawyers Abroad — a charitable organization that engages in groundbreaking good governance, rule of law and human rights work in Asia, Africa and Canada’s North (and whose executive director, Catherine McKenna, wrote an op-ed on the Responsibility to Protect that will appear in the forthcoming Summer 2011 issue of Precedent).

CLA is hosting a “Rights of Spring” cocktail party, in honour of its sixth anniversary, at Globalive’s SHAMBA foundation (48 Yonge Street, Suite 1200 in Toronto). Special guest Hon. Howard I. Wetston, Q.C., chair of the Ontario Securities Commission, will speak about the importance of promoting the rule of law at this event, which runs from 6pm until 9pm.

Admission is free, but advance reservation is required. Click here to reserve your complimentary ticket, and get more information about the party here [PDF].
