The Precedent Setter Awards are back.

We want to recognize lawyers called between 2001 and 2011 who excel and show leadership in their practices and their communities.

Nominations are being accepted at the Precedent office from now until Feb. 7, 2012.

2011 winners included:

  • Karima Kanani, a partner at Miller Thomson LLP and co-author of the popular textbook Essential Law for Social Work Practice in Canada.
  • Mercedes Perez, an associate at Swadron Associates who spent a vacation on a fact-finding mission in El Salvador investigating a series of murders near proposed gold mines.
  • Renée Maria Tremblay, acting legal officer, Chambers of the Chief Justice, Supreme Court of Canada, who was the sole Canadian contributor to the 9th edition of Black’s Law Dictionary.
