Two young lawyers and one prominent litigator were honoured last week by the Women’s Law Association of Ontario.

Founded in 1919, the WLAO is a not-for-profit organization focussed on advancing the position of women in the legal profession. At the annual award dinner, its President’s Award was bestowed on Bonnie Tough, a leading civil law litigator, in recognition of her outstanding service within the profession and her leadership role in advancing the position of women lawyers.

WLAO also celebrated two female law students for their contributions to the legal field. Amy Slotek and Andree Taylor won the McCarthy Tetrault LLP/WLAO Community Contribution Award and the Aird & Berlis LLP/WLAO Advocacy Award, respectively.
