Precedent takes home 5 gold awards during magazine award week

Named "Best Trade Magazine" for the third year in a row

Last week, the Canadian publishing industry celebrated the best magazine-makers in the business, with three nights of awards. And Precedent was there to take home gold at all three.

At the Kenneth R. Wilson Awards — an annual celebration of trade magazine publishing in Canada — Precedent scored three first-place wins. We took home gold for best photo, for a portrait of securities lawyer Greg Harris by Daniel Ehrenworth. We also collected the top prize for best one-of-a-kind article for our roundtable on the future of law and best art direction of a single issue for last year’s fall issue.

Precedent was also named trade magazine of the year at the Canadian Society of Magazine Editors‘ annual gala, and won best illustration at the National Magazine Awards, for our fall issue cover by Raymond Biesinger (see illustration above).

Special thanks go out to all the editors, designers, writers, photographers, illustrators and advertisers who help us make a magazine worthy of these awards.
