The Crown intends to argue before the Supreme Court of Canada that a new trial for convicted serial killer Robert Pickton would be a waste of time, since another conviction is assured. His defence lawyers will counter that everyone has the right to a fair trial.

Pickton’s appeal, based on alleged inconsistencies in the judge’s instructions to the jurors in his criminal trial, will be heard by the top court tomorrow.

Case summary details from the Supreme Court website are available here.
