More than 150 people from the legal and social-justice communities gathered to celebrate The Law Foundation of Ontario’s 2018 Guthrie Award recipient: Mary Birdsell.

As the executive director of Justice for Children and Youth, a legal clinic dedicated to protecting and advancing the legal rights and dignity of children and youth, Birdsell has devoted her career to some of the most vulnerable people in our society. In this role, she has appeared at all levels of courts, including the Supreme Court of Canada.

At the reception, held at the end of October, Birdsell was presented with the award by Linda Rothstein, the chair of the foundation and a partner at Paliare Roland Rosenberg Rothstein LLP.
