Two upcoming events will recognize the contributions to the legal profession of two distinguished women. 

WLAO

The Women’s Law Association of Ontario will present its 2011 President’s Award to Laurie Pawlitza on Tuesday, June 7. The LSUC treasurer and Torkin Manes partner is being recognized for “her extraordinary contribution to the legal profession and, in particular, for her significant role in promoting the interests of women lawyers in Ontario.”

The ceremony, which also includes presentations for the WLAO’s 2011 student awards, begins at 5:45pm at The National Club in Toronto. For more details, and to register online for the awards dinner, visit the WLAO website.


spring galaThe upcoming Spring Gala presented by the Toronto chapter of the Turnaround Management Association is already sold out! They’ve started a waiting list, though, which you can put your name on via the TMA website.

This “Evening Honouring Women in Restructuring” is a fundraiser for Interval House and includes awards presentations, dinner, a silent auction and more. A Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Ontario Superior Court Justice Sarah Pepall.
